However, some search engines, notably Yahoo!, operate a paid submission service that guarantee crawling for either a set fee or cost per click. Google, on the other hand, offers Google Webmaster Tools, for which an XML Sitemap feed can be created and submitted for free to ensure that all pages are found, especially pages that aren’t discoverable by automatically following links. Other than submitting one’s website or XML sitemap to a web directories, other methods are also used to increase a website’s visibility in the web through optimizing on-page factors such as inside linking and code optimization. - Cross-linking or inside linking – This technique involves placing links that points inside the website, or cross linking between pages of the same website. Giving more links to main pages of the website, to increase PageRank used by search engines.
- Keyword rich contents – Content is very important in SEO. Keyword rich text in the webpage and key phrases, so as to match all search queries. HTML codes such as Alt Tags and Title Tags are also used to contain several keywords.
- URL optimization – Optimizing the website’s URL is also important by containing several keywords.
- Meta Tags – These are also popular mainly because of its importance in search engine crawlers.
